Police last Wednesday cited a 28-year-old New Canaan man for pot possession following a motor vehicle accident near the downtown.
At about 12:26 p.m. on Nov. 23, officers were dispatched to Summer Street at Locust Avenue on a report of a 2-car accident there, according to a police report.
During a subsequent investigation, the officers spoke with the driver of one vehicle involved, and smelled marijuana in his car, the report said.
The Millport Avenue resident was cited for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana, an infraction offense.
