Sticks, which offers members a Trackman iO golf simulator with radar, infrared and high-speed imaging, is on track to open in November at 28 Vitti St., according to owner Ali Loyd.

The company is a “passion project” that’s “small and still very new,” Loyd told NewCanaanite.com. “This is our second location, and we’re thrilled to be expanding to New Canaan.”

Asked why New Canaan is a good town for Sticks, Loyd said: “We’ve always loved New Canaan—one of my best friends in college was from New Canaan, and it sounded like a storybook whenever she would talk about it. When we moved to Fairfield County we were thrilled to land close by, and as we thought about opening a business we always kept it top of mind, as we know there are plenty of golf lovers there.”

Sticks operates on a members-only model, and the company limits membership at about 50 people with no drop-ins, ensuring there’s availability for members, she said.

Sticks “was born out of the dream of having a golf simulator in our own home—a wish we’ve realized we share with many families,” Loyd said.

“With that in mind, our small and cozy spaces are meant to feel like an extension of your home, which is our member’s favorite thing about our space,” she said.

They’ve been open in Westport for one year.

Loyd said that the area has “a big hole” with respect to Trackman simulator availability.

“In Westport, we’ve found that all sorts of golfers love having access to a top-of-the-line simulator,” she said. “Playing year-round or warming up for an outdoor round, whether you’re a casual municipal player or a country club member, is valuable. We’re hoping to partner with local courses to offer discounted memberships to their communities, which is an important part of our business in Westport.”

Asked for Sticks’ message for the New Canaan community, Loyd said:
“We’re excited to be in New Canaan, and we’d love to show you around. We offer free rounds for any interested members, and our memberships make great holiday gifts.”
