New Canaan VFW Leads Placement of Flags Beside Graves of Veterans Buried in Town
On Saturday, May 28th at 8 a.m., New Canaan’s Veterans of Foreign Wars will place a new flag on the gravesite of every Veteran buried in New Canaan. New Canaan Patriots of all ages are invited and welcomed to participate in this annual event. Participants should meet at the lower Veterans section of Lakeview Cemetery, using the Main Street entrance. There will be coffee, donuts and juice provided. Placing Wreaths on the Gravestones of New Canaan Veterans
The community is invited to join VFW Post 653 Commander Peter Langenus to help place 1,000 wreaths in cemeteries throughout New Canaan, on the gravestone of every veteran buried here. Those interested in assisting with this effort should come to Lakeview Cemetery at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26 (the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend).

Placing New Flags on Veterans’ Graves in New Canaan
All New Canaanites are invited by VFW Post 653 to join them at Lakeview Cemetery to put out new flags veterans' grave sites. This is a donor-supported annual tradition. To reach the veterans' graves area in the cemetery, entering from the Main Street side, follow the road over the bridge and straight ahead for about 25 yards.

Placing Flags at Veterans’ Grave Sites in Lakeview Cemetery
Under the auspices of New Canaan’s Post 653 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, new flags for Memorial Day will be placed on the graves of all veterans buried in Lakeview Cemetery. Placement will start at 8:00am on Saturday, May 25. Please gather at the lower Veterans section (from the Millport Avenue/Main Street entrance, over the bridge and straight forward). Coffee and donuts will be available.

VFW Post 653 is calling for volunteers to help put out Christmas wreaths on all veterans’ gravestones in New Canaan. They’re meeting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 in the veterans’ section of Lakeview Cemetery, just past the wooden bridge inside the entrance at Millport Avenue and Main Street. Coffee and donuts will be provided.

Volunteers Needed To Help VFW at Lakeview Cemetery
Members of the local VFW are calling on volunteers to help with an effort in Lakeview Cemetery this weekend. At 8 a.m. Saturday, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Howard M. Bossa and Peter C.
