Police on Tuesday arrested a 23-year-old Stamford man by warrant and charged him with criminal attempt/first-degree arson, second-degree criminal mischief, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and second-degree breach of peace.
At about 5:57 p.m. on Feb. 20, officers were dispatched to 208 Valley Road on a report of a person with a baseball bat breaking windows and pouring gasoline around one of the buildings on a psychiatric facility’s campus, police said.
Through an investigation, police identified the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Police served the warrant at about 4:16 p.m. Tuesday at Norwalk Hospital.
The man was held on $250,000 bond and scheduled to appear Wednesday in state Superior Court.
