New Canaan Police at 9:14 p.m Monday received a report of a residential burglary on Skyview Lane. Stolen items include jewelry. Police have no suspects at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

The response to Tuesday evening’s premiere at The Playhouse of New Canaan High School grad Theo Avgerinos’s documentary film, “Rising Hope,” was so strong that CinemaLab has scheduled encore screenings at 8 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Police at 9:56 p.m. on Oct. 24 secured a roaming dog on Lost District Drive and returned the pet to its owner.

Dozens of dogs were dressed up for New Canaan Chamber of Commerce’s annual Halloween Block Party, held Oct. 27 on Elm Street. It featured music from the School of Rock and dogs such as Holly, at right, for a new “Howl-O-Ween” parade. The Artisans Market Fine Art & Craft Fair will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 10 at Silvermine Galleries. “We have 15-plus artisans selling ceramics, jewelry, glass, wood, textiles, accessories, wall art and more,” organizers say. More info here.

Police at 7:48 p.m. on Oct. 18 arrested a 40-year-old New Canaan woman by warrant and charged her with second-degree failure to appear. The Heritage Hill Road resident didn’t appear in court following an August arrest for leaving a child unsupervised in place of public accommodation or motor vehicle (statute here). She’s now scheduled for arraignment Nov. 1.
