Police last week arrested a 30-year-old Rye Brook, N.Y. resident and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 12:56 a.m. on Oct. 31, officers responded to Park and Pine Streets after a vehicle struck a utility pole, according to a police report.
There, police found that the man was the only occupant of the car involved in the single-vehicle crash, the report said.
While speaking with him, police found signs of impairment, including an odor of alcohol, it said.
After administering field sobriety tests, police at 1:26 a.m. brought the misdemeanor charge.
Back at police headquarters, the man refused to provide breath samples to establish his blood-alcohol level, the report said.
Police additionally cited him for failure to drive on the right.
He was released on $300 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 14 in state Superior Court.
