The New Canaan Building Department on Aug. 11 received an application for a 4,550-square-foot two-family home on Forest Street.
Each unit at 156 Forest St. will have four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half-bath, according to the building permit application. Also they’ll each have one fireplace and a finished attic, the application said. (One of them will have a finished basement, as well, and two garages, while the other will have just a single garage, it said.)
The two-family home will cost an estimated $900,000 to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job is Joseph Michael Developments LLC of Stamford, the architect Darien-based Pagliaro Architects.
The town last month issued a permit to demolish a 1900-built multifamily dwelling on the .21-acre property.
The property has been continuously owned by one family for 60-plus years, tax records show.
