New Canaan Police on Friday arrested a 33-year-old Bridgeport man by warrant and charged him with third-degree burglary, a felony offense.

At about 5 p.m. on Oct. 26, officers traveled to Ansonia where authorities had the man in custody on an active warrant in connection with a theft in New Canaan, according to a police report.

On July 10, 2017, police received a complaint regarding an iPhone stolen during the day from a car parked at an Old Studio Road home, the report said.

Video surveillance from the home showed the man entering a landscaping truck and putting an object in his pocket, and police determined that he was responsible for the theft, it said.

He additionally was charged with fifth-degree larceny.

Police held the man on $20,000 bond and scheduled him to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
