Police on Friday afternoon arrested a 28-year-old Waterbury man by warrant in connection with the theft of $37,000 in watches and jewelry from a New Canaan home last March.
The man had been working for a company hired to move items out of the residence, according to a police report. The larceny was reported March 9, 2020, the report said.
Investigators with the New Canaan Police Department Patrol and Investigative Divisions worked together to establish prime suspects in the theft, it said. They secured a warrant for first-degree larceny, a felony.
Police took custody of the man in state Superior Court in Waterbury, the report said, and transported him to New Canaan Police headquarters for processing.
He was held on $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear Monday in state Superior Court.
