Police late Tuesday arrested a 21-year-old Hartford woman and charged her with four counts of third-degree identity theft and two counts of felony conspiracy.
New Canaan Police in May took a complaint from a victim who reported that multiple accounts had been opened up with T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless using their identity, officials said.
Police said they obtained a warrant for her arrest and, at about 11:38 p.m. on Dec. 7, took custody of the woman at Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland. West Hartford Police additionally had a warrant out for the woman for first-degree failure to appear. According to Connecticut Judicial Branch records, police there had arrested the woman in September while she was using an alias, and charged her with second-degree forgery, interfering and third-degree identity theft.
She was held on $70,000 bond and scheduled to appear Wednesday in state Superior Court.
