New Canaan Police on Tuesday arrested a 30-year-old Millport Avenue man and charged him with second-degree harassment.
At about 3:05 p.m. on Jan. 3, police investigated a dispute between the man and the victim that had occurred the prior day, officials said.
A person is guilty of second-degree harassment, under state law, if he or she “he addresses another in or uses indecent or obscene language” or “with intent to harass, annoy or alarm another person, he communicates with a person … in a manner likely to cause annoyance or alarm,” among other reasons.
It isn’t clear how the man communicated with the victim, how the man harassed the victim or whether they’re related. Police withheld details, saying it’s a domestic matter.
The man was released after promising to appear Wednesday in state Superior Court.
