Police on Monday night arrested a 55-year-old Bedford Hills, N.Y. woman and charged her with evading responsibility.
At about 3:07 p.m. on Feb. 25, officers were dispatched to the area of 1529 Ponus Ridge on a report of damage to a guardrail and a New York license plate with debris from a vehicle found nearby, police said.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that the Bedford Hills woman had crashed into the guardrail and left the scene, according to a police report.
She told police that the crash occurred one week earlier, on Feb. 18, while she was driving to work, the report said. She told police that it had been snowing and the car slid off of the road and struck the guardrail, it said.
Police released the woman after she promised to appear March 8 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
