Friday, June, 16, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Improving strength and muscle mass are critical elements of maintaining the quality of life in aging, according to Frank McGinnis, a personal fitness trainer, who will speak about aging and strength training at The New Canaan Men’s Club meeting June 16 in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
McGinnis, a fitness trainer at the New Canaan and Greenwich YMCAs, works with clients of all ages, but his focus in recent years has been on with men and women between 60 and 90 years old.
The club’s meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with McGinnis’s remarks beginning around 10:40 a.m., following the business portion of the meeting.
A trainer certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, McGinnis has found that healthy muscle plays a critical role in healthy aging.
Earlier in his career, McGinnis was a senior management consultant for McKinsey and Co, and A.T. Kearney. He has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA from Duke University.
The Men’s Club meets Fridays and membership is open to men, 55-years-old and above. For information about joining, email ncmens@ncmens.club.
