Police on Friday arrested two New Canaan residents and charged them with risk of injury to a child, a felony offense.
On Sept. 17, officials with the state Department of Children and Families contacted New Canaan Police about a report they’d received of potential abuse involving two children at a Briscoe Road home, officials say.
Following an investigation, authorities obtained a warrant for the arrest of a 50-year-old man and 40-year-old woman residing there, according to a police report. They’re both related to the kids, the report said.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the arrested people are married to each other or are the children’s parents. Police withheld details, saying the matter involves juveniles.
Police took the pair of adults into custody at their home at about 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 25, the report said.
They each were released on $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 28 in state Superior Court.
