The New Canaan Building Department on Sept. 22 received two applications to construct new homes.
A 5,249-square-foot home is planned for a 3.19-acre parcel in the two-acre zone at 279 West Road. It will include five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths, according to the application.
The contractor on the job is Westport-based Domus Constructors LLC, the architect Norwalk-based Michael Smith Architects, the application said.
The home will cost about $1.767,092 to build, it said.
Sold for $1,375,000 in 2013, the property includes a 1959-built Colonial, tax records show.
The town also received an application to build a 4,156-square-foot house at 28 Hillside Ave., a vacant .23-acre parcel in the B Residential zone.
It will include five bedrooms and full bathrooms, and three half-baths. The house will cost about $650,000 to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job is Jerry Riccardelli of New Canaan, the architects Shelton-based Maria Baptista and Prajakata Jadhar, the application said.
