Sandra M. DeAsi, 95

Sandra (Sandy) M. DeAsi, a lifelong resident of New Canaan, CT died peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Mazzella and Mary Rossi Mazzella. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Emilio (Mel) J. DeAsi, another lifelong New Canaan resident, and 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her three children and three grandchildren. A son, Gary DeAsi and his wife Lisa and their son Gary Jr., of Duxbury, MA, two daughters, Lynn Ordnung and her husband Eric of Asheville, NC, and Dawn Dursee and her two sons Quinn and Colin of Westfield, NJ.  She also leaves behind eight nieces and three nephews.

Stephen Nicholas Parrett, 57

Stephen Nicholas Parrett, 57, of New Canaan, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16th, 2022. He was born on July 20th, 1964 in Stamford, CT. Stephen was a New Canaan resident for most of his life, graduating from New Canaan High School in 1982. He cared deeply about helping others and his community, which was shown through the amount of time he spent volunteering for the town. He was first a member of CERT, and then joined the New Canaan Fire Company No.

Kay Parker Jex, 93

Kay Parker Jex on May 18, 2022, loving wife, mother, grandmother and accomplished attorney, passed away peacefully at age 93 surrounded by family. Kay was born on July 27, 1928 to Frank and Edna (Madeleine) Parker in Eggertsville, a hamlet of Buffalo, NY. She lived in Buffalo, NY and later Dayton, Ohio with her parents, and siblings Ann and Peter. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan Phi Beta Kappa, was Valedictorian of the class of 1950, and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Kay married John (Jay) M. Jex on December 26, 1955 and they raised the family in New Canaan, Conn.

Anthony Jordhamo, 86

Anthony Jordhamo, 86, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. He was born in Bridgeport to the late Constantine and Margarita (Polena) Jordhamo. As a history teacher, Mr. Jordhamo walked the hallways of New Canaan High School with a fiery wit for nearly 30 years; educating, molding, and entertaining three generations of students. He also was a stalwart negotiator for the teacher’s union and was an energetic activist for the National Education Association. He was a ruthless card player, a smooth practitioner of the one-liner, and was known for his cutting-edge sartorial choices: the man could wear clogs like no one else, before or since.

Donald John Usher, Jr., 87

Donald John Usher, Jr. 87, of Cape Cod, formerly of New Canaan, CT passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Elaine Hanson Usher, by his side. He was born in Troy, NY. to the late Donald John Sr. and Nora (Greely) Usher. Besides his wife Elaine, Don is survived by his son, Jason Donald Usher; granddaughter, McKenna May Usher; grandson Broderick Hanson Usher; brother-in-law, Karl (wife Pat); and sisters in law; Karen, Laurie and Beverly; godchildren, Markus Swartout, Theresa Boos, Elizabeth (Whitney) Schwalbe, Susan Levander and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Robert, Charles and sister Salann.
