Police on Sunday morning arrested a 23-year-old New Canaan man and charged him with third-degree mischief and disorderly conduct.
At about 10:43 a.m. on June 20, officers were dispatched to an Oenoke Ridge residence regarding a dispute between the man and another occupant of the home, according to a police report.
There, following an investigation, police charged him with the misdemeanor-level offenses.
It’s unclear what the dispute involved, whether it turned physical or what led to the criminal mischief charge. Police withheld details, saying it’s a domestic matter.
Under state law, a person is guilty of third-degree criminal mischief if he or she “intentionally or recklessly damages tangible property of another, or tampers with tangible property of another and thereby causes such property to be placed in danger of damage,” among other reasons.
The man was released after promising to appear Monday in state Superior Court.
