Police this month arrested a 34-year-old Norwalk man by warrant and charged him with first-degree criminal trespass.
At about 7:38 p.m. on Aug. 2, officers arrested him at his home, using a warrant that stemmed from an investigation launched following information reported to police by the victim in July, officials said.
It isn’t clear what the man did to earn the misdemeanor charge. The warrant application wasn’t immediately available.
Under state law, a person is guilty of first-degree criminal trespass if he or she “enters or remains in a building or any other premises after an order to leave” while knowing they’re “not licensed or privileged to do so,” among other reasons.
Police released the man after he agreed to appear Aug. 5 in state Superior Court.
He hasn’t pleaded yet, according to Connecticut Judicial Branch records. The man is being represented by The Maddox Law Firm and is scheduled for arraignment Oct. 1.
