Police cited a 20-year-old Darien man on minor pot charges late Sunday after finding smoking gear in his car during a motor vehicle stop downtown.
At about 11 p.m. Sunday, police stopped a motorist on Cherry Street for an expired registration, according to a police report.
The officer spotted a pipe in the center console’s cup holder, and on it found residue of THC oil, the active ingredient in marijuana, the report said.
Police found no contraband on the 20-year-old. In a backpack in the car, they found a butane torch, glass bong, two small containers of hash oil and a “slab of THC oil” in a Zip-Loc baggie.
The Darienite was cited for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
