Police on Saturday arrested a 43-year-old New Canaan man and charged him with disorderly conduct.

At about 5:08 p.m. on Feb. 3, officers received a complaint about a dispute that had occurred in a Lakeview Avenue residence, according to a police report.

Police conducted an investigation and traveled to Lakeview Avenue, where the man was found inside a vehicle near the residence, the report said.

He was taken into custody and charged with the misdemeanor.

It isn’t clear what the dispute involved, whether it turned physical or whether the arrested man is related to the victim. Police withheld details, classifying the incident as a domestic matter.

Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person, among other reasons.

The man was released on $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 5 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
