Police arrested a 32-year-old woman last Wednesday after spotting her inside a local pharmacy with her boyfriend, in violation of a protective order.

At about 7:34 p.m. on Dec. 9, an office saw the woman and boyfriend enter Walgreens on Pine Street, according to a police report. The officer was aware that a protective order had been issued, following a Sept. 21 incident in which the woman hit the man in the back of the head with a hairbrush, the report said.

The officer returned to police headquarters and confirmed that the woman was not allowed to be at the man’s Forest Street house, under the order, the report said.

Officers then arrived at the house, asked the boyfriend who answered the door whether she was there, and found that was, the report said. They arrested her for criminal violation of a protective order, a felony offense, the report said.

The woman last had given a New Canaan street address, police said.

She was released on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 10 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
