Police last weekend arrested a 56-year-old Millport Avenue woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 8:34 p.m. on Jan. 14, an officer on patrol saw a vehicle swerving while traveling in the northbound on New Norwalk Road, almost hitting a utility pole, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop on Lakeview Avenue at Avalon Drive, the officer smelled alcohol in the car and on the driver’s breath, the report said.
She failed field sobriety tests, it said.
Information regarding her blood-alcohol level was not immediately available.
The woman was released after promising to appear Jan. 26 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
