Police late Saturday arrested a 30-year-old Newington man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 11:37 p.m. on April 2, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Silvermine Road on a report of a single-car crash, police said.
The vehicle had traveled off the roadway and struck a fence, according to a police report.
Responding officers found signs of impairment in speaking to the driver, the report said. After conducting field sobriety tests, police arrested him on the misdemeanor charge and took him to headquarters for processing, it said.
There, the man refused to provide a sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, the report said.
He additionally was cited for failure to drive right, it said.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear April 14 in state Superior Court.
