Police arrested a 39-year-old woman after she’d stopped for a long time in her car late Monday at a flashing red light downtown.
At about 11:38 p.m., an officer on patrol observed the vehicle sitting “for an extended period of time” at the intersection of Park and Elm Streets, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer detected signs of impairment in the Stamford woman, the report said. She failed field sobriety tests and then refused to undergo a test to establish her blood-alcohol level, it said.
At about 1:46 a.m. Tuesday, she was charged with driving under the influence.
Police released the woman on $250 bond and scheduled her to appear June 18 in State Superior Court.
