New Canaan Police last week arrested a 50-year-old Stamford man and charged him with driving under the influence.

At about 8:14 p.m. on Feb. 16, an officer on patrol saw a car serving northbound on Oenoke Ridge at the Turtleback Road straightaway, according to a police report.

The car crossed into the oncoming traffic lane twice before turning onto West Road, the report said.

During a subsequent stop on West Road near Lost District Drive, the officer saw that the man’s eyes were glossy and bloodshot, and when asked he admitted to drinking, it said.

After administering field sobriety tests, police arrested the man on the misdemeanor offense and also cited him for failure to drive on the right, the report said. During processing at police headquarters, the man refused to provide a breath sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, it said.

He was released on $300 bond and scheduled to appear March 2 in state Superior Court.
