Police on Friday night arrested a 50-year-old Stamford woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 9:14 p.m. on Aug. 26, officers received a 9-1-1 call reporting an erratic driver in the area of Greenley Road, then later Ponus Ridge traveling north, according to a police report.
Officers spotted the car traveling south on Ponus Ridge in the area of Lakewind Road and stopped it just as the vehicle nearly struck an embankment on Reservoir Lane, the report said.
The woman driving was slurring her words and she failed field sobriety tests, it said. She refused to take a breath test, according to police.
She was cited for failure to drive right and failure to renew her registration.
Police released the woman on $250 bond and scheduled her to appear Sept. 9 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
