Police after midnight Sunday arrested a 36-year-old Wilton man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 11:54 p.m. Saturday, an officer on patrol saw a car run the red light while traveling northbound on Route 123 at Brushy Ridge Road, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled alcohol in the vehicle, the report said.
After conducting field sobriety tests, police established probable cause to bring the misdemeanor charge, it said, and the man was placed under arrest at about 12:20 a.m. on Oct. 29.
Police took the man to headquarters for processing. There, he refused to provide a sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, police said.
He was additionally cited for failure to obey the traffic control signal.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear Nov 13 in state Superior Court.
