Police on Tuesday arrested a 61-year-old Lawrenceville, Ga. man by warrant and charged him with first-degree larceny and conspiracy.
Last year, on Nov. 24, 2020, New Canaan Police received a complaint regarding $68,562.57 in exercise equipment that had been purchased but never received by the buyer, officials said.
The victim said that they’d tried multiple times to get the equipment delivered but was unable to, according to a police report.
Police launched an investigation and determined that the Georgia man was one of those involved in the felony larceny, the report said.
The investigation into the larceny remains active and additional arrested are expected, police said.
The man turned himself in to police at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, the report said.
Police released the man on $50,000 bond and scheduled him to appear Dec. 14 in state Superior Court.
