Police last week arrested a 50-year-old Centennial, Ohio man and charged him with second-degree harassment.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant on the misdemeanor charge following an investigation that had been launched after the victim brought a report on Feb. 27, police said.

The man turned himself in at about 6:39 a.m. on April 25.

Under state law, a person is guilty of second-degree harassment if he or she “with intent to harass, terrorize or alarm another person, and for no legitimate purpose” sends a text, email or other such digital communication “in a manner likely to cause terror, intimidation or alarm.”

It isn’t clear what the man sent to the victim, what type of communication it was or whether he’s related to the victim. Police withheld details, saying it’s a domestic matter.

He was released after promising to appear the same day in state Superior Court. He has not yet pleaded and is scheduled to appear again July 18, court records show.
