Police last week arrested a 22-year-old Bridgeport man by warrant and charged him with third-degree identity theft, sixth-degree larceny and illegal use of a payment card.
Last August, officers took a complaint regarding the unauthorized use of a credit card by an unknown suspect, according to a police report.
Through an investigation, police identified the man as the individual who created a fraudulent name to purchase items using the credit card, the report said.
Police obtained a warrant for his arrest and, on the night of Aug. 25, took custody of the man at the Wilton Police Department.
He was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 8 in state Superior Court.
