Police last week arrested a 51-year-old Norwalk man and charged him with sixth-degree larceny.
At about 10:26 p.m. on Aug. 27 (a Tuesday), an officer on patrol noticed an unregistered vehicle with a falsified license plate traveling on East Avenue, according to a police report.
During a motor vehicle stop at the East Hills Drive intersection, the officer identified the driver and, while searching the vehicle, found a stolen Connecticut license plate on the floor behind the driver’s seat, the report said.
As a result, the officer brought the misdemeanor larceny charge, as well as a citation for theft of plates.
The man was released after promising to appear Sept. 10 in state Superior Court.
