Police Chief Leon Krolikowski shared the following letter of appreciation at the Feb. 16 meeting of the Police Commission. It was sent by St. Luke’s School Director of Safety and Security Gerald McMahon on Jan. 13, in the days that followed the death of Teddy Balkin:
“Chief Krolikowski, thank you and your department for the trends outpouring of support it has sent to St. Luke’s these past few days. The phone calls and emails offering to help in whatever way is greatly appreciated. A special thank you goes to Deputy Chief [John] DiFederico, Lt. [Jason] Ferraro and Officers [Shane] Gibson, [Ron] Bentley and [Kelly] Coughlin. Their assistance and support was instrumental in making the students, faculty, staff and families that came to campus to be together, feel safe and supported. They are a true compliment to the New Canaan Police Department. Please pass my personal Thank You on to them and the rest of the Department. Thank you. Be Safe. Respectfully, Jay McMahon”
