Letter: Newly Elected Town Council Member Kenin Thanks Voters

More

Dear Editor,

I am still basking in the post election glow and it feels great. Thank you to everyone who came out to the polls on Tuesday. We should all be proud of the fact that a new record was set with the highest number of voters in a non-Presidential election. More people are listening and focused on our local issues. More people are taking the time to research the issues at hand. More people are making their voices heard. Democracy is hard at work. We are all blessed to be a part of it. As the election tables fold up and are put away until the next election cycle and we all go back to our daily routines, I encourage our citizens to remain engaged and a part of the conversation. Read our local papers, visit our concerned citizen websites, talk to your neighbor and friends about the daily dish, stay engaged. I look forward to four productive and fun years ahead working with all of our elected officials, appointees, party advocates, interest groups and citizens. The sky is the limit. As a freshman on the Town Council, my plan is to listen first and speak second. Let’s all listen to each other first and then speak later.

Most sincerely, Christa Kenin
