Dear Editor,
The New Canaan Human Services Department and the Health and Human Services Commission would like to thank each and every resident, food pantry volunteer, business, organization, and place of worship for the generosity given to those in need during the holidays. A record abundance of gift cards, gift baskets, wrapped presents, hot meals, holiday trees, wreaths, warm winter clothing, food drives and monetary donations were shared with those households which are so grateful for the extra help at this time of year. Our community went above and beyond the gift of giving by reaching out to over 100 children and their families. More than 265 residents utilized December’s Food Pantry. The spirit of community and altruism continues to peal throughout our very special town.
