Dear Editor,

The rain did not deter May Fair’s Friday Night Lights! Through scattered rain, mud, and puddles, the young and young at heart hit the Midway Rides and food tent for an evening of pure joy and entertainment. We were all thankful the next day when the clouds dissipated, the blue sky appeared, and the sun shined Saturday for May Fair 2025!

My second year as chair of the St. Mark’s May Fair is complete, and I want to express my gratitude to the many who helped support our Parish’s annual event to contribute to those in our community who can use our financial and spiritual support. All net proceeds support St. Mark’s ministries and special grant support to other nonprofits that serve those in need.

Thanks to our unwavering and longtime committed annual Diamond Sponsors: Bankwell, Karl Chevrolet, and Walter Stewart’s Market. Thank you to our returning Silver Sponsors: NewCanaanite, New Canaan Sentinel, Pennyweights, Planet New Canaan, and Zumbach’s Coffee. A special thank you and welcome to our new sponsors – Longfield Farms, who created a beautiful natural surrounding in the Plant Tent, and Pet Pantry Warehouse, who supported our beloved Dog Show, which boasted more than 17 entries this year.

There are many to thank for their endless time and energy that make this event a town success and a 76 year old tradition. A heartfelt thank you to:

  • Future 5, Stamford
  • GetAbout New Canaan
  • New Canaan’s Boy Scout Troop #70
  • New Canaan Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • New Canaan EMS
  • New Canaan High School Service League of Boys (SLOBs)
  • New Canaan’s Old Faithful Fire Engine
  • New Canaan Police Department
  • New Canaan’s Town Band
  • Pivot Ministries of Bridgeport
  • Volunteers – more than 500 community members!

On behalf of our May Fair Committee, we hope everyone who attended had a great time and that New Canaan has a peaceful summer! I’ll see you next year in May 2026, as I’m honored to lead the efforts again. And remember, May Fair always coincides with Mother’s Day weekend.

Most appreciatively,

John Kennedy, Jr.,

Chair May Fair Executive Committee
