There is never any shortage of New Canaan residents and organizations doing nice things for others during the holiday season. The difference with these organizations is how long they have been helping others.
Our best guess is that the Exchange Club has sponsored the Exchange Club and Lapham Center Holiday Party for more than 60 years! This means that they not only pay for lunch but they also make sure that all attendees take home a goody bag and that Santa Claus makes his rounds and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas. There’s a lot of organization required to make everything run smoothly and they always do it well and with a smile.
This year we had a staff of 15 Exchange Club members and Santa, that served and cleared dinner better than any professional servers could have done, everything was flawless.
It’s a busy time of the year for everyone so we are truly grateful to those people who take time from their busy schedules to make sure someone else gets to enjoy the holidays. Our hats are off to those members of the Exchange Club, Lapham Center, and Recreation staff who made sure all our over 100 older adults had a really special day.
