Man, 49, Arrested for Drunk Driving on Christmas

Police late on Christmas Day arrested a 49-year-old Norwalk man and charged him with driving under the influence. 

At about 9:47 p.m. on Dec. 25, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle with an expired registration, according to a police report. During a subsequent stop at Route 123 and Lakeview Avenue, the officer saw signs of impairment in the driver, the report said.

After administering field sobriety tests, the man was arrested on the misdemeanor charge and taken into custody, it said.

At police headquarters, he provided a sample that established his blood-alcohol level at .107, above the legal limit of .08, police said.

He additionally was cited for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance.

Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear Jan. 25 in state Superior Court.
