More Charges for New Canaan Woman, 47, After Domestic Incident

More

Police this month arrested a 47-year-old New Canaan woman with a long rap sheet and charged her with first-degree criminal trespass and two counts of second-degree violation of conditions of release.

At about 4:26 p.m. on Dec. 16 (a Saturday), an individual came to New Canaan Police’s temporary headquarters downtown to report harassment.

Following an investigation, the Lakeview Avenue woman was taken into custody on the charges.

It’s unclear just how the woman violated her conditions of release. Police withheld information, saying it’s a domestic matter. (A man, 47, who gave police the same home address, also was arrested this month following a domestic dispute.)

Under state law, a person is guilty of first-degree criminal trespass if he or she “[k]nowing that such person is not licensed or privileged to do so, such person enters or remains in a building or any other premises after an order to leave or not to enter personally communicated to such person by the owner of the premises or other authorized person.”

She was transported to headquarters for processing and held in Norwalk on $50,000 bond for arraignment the following Monday.

According to Connecticut Judicial Branch records, the woman also faces the following charges from NCPD from recent past offenses:

  • Third-degree assault and disorderly conduct (September)
  • Risk of injury to a child, disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order (October)
  • Violation of a criminal protective order (November)
  • Violation of a protective order, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct (December).

The woman remains in custody and was scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court.
