Assistant Fire Chief Bassett speaks to Men’s Club
Friday, December, 17, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Assistant Fire Chief Albert “Albe” Bassett will present “A Fire Service Carol” at the New Canaan Men’s Club meeting December 17, a talk describing the Fire Department’s past, present and future. To be held in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge, the meeting will hear how, like other organizations, the fire service can draw upon lessons from its history, evaluate its current status and lay out a mission for its future.
Bassett’s remarks will begin around 10:40 a.m., following the short business portion of the meeting at 10 a.m.
The fire service, he says, has long established traditions. In discussing those traditions, he will discuss how the service adapts both locally and nationally to changing situations and evolving firefighting practices.
Prior to joining the New Canaan Fire Department, Bassett served for 29 years in Norwalk where he retired as assistant fire chief. He describes his passion in fire service as “providing training and education to firefighters and fire officers so they can service their communities at the highest level.”
The Men’s Club has openings for new members 55-years old and above. For further information, email ncmens@ncmens.club.
