Author Gus Moreno Presents Debut Novel ‘This Thing Between Us’

January 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

New Canaan Library welcomes author Gus Moreno, who will discuss his debut novel. An electrifying thriller with an infusion of otherworldly happenings, This Thing Between Us is the first novel from highly acclaimed short story writer Moreno. For fans of the genres of horror and the surreal, this stunning debut prompted The New York Times Book Review to state…” you don’t want to read this book before bed. The event takes place via Zoom on Tuesday, January 25 at 7 PM EST. Please register at newcanaanlibrary.org for Zoom sign in information.
Mixing cosmic horror with a dash of Mexican American folklore, this highly original tale by Moreno explores the topics of grief, loneliness, and the infiltration of technology – even if it has been invited in. Vera and Thiago agreed to buy Itza, the “world’s most advanced smart speaker!” Vera thought it would be a bit of fun for them amidst all the strange things happening in the condo, but it only made things worse. Strange happenings got more and more bizarre – until tragedy struck.
Gus Moreno is the author of This Thing Between Us. His stories have appeared in Aurealis, Pseudopod, Bluestem Magazine, and the Burnt Tongues anthology. He lives in the suburbs with his wife and dogs, but never think that he’s not from Chicago for one second.
