Fall Fundraising Event to Benefit the Domestic Violence Crisis Center

Saturday, November, 3, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Stamford, CT – The Domestic Violence Crisis Center has announced a new upcoming fundraising event for this fall. Scheduled for Saturday, November 3, “HarvestFest”. Presented by Cohen and Wolfe P.C., HarvestFest will be held at the Fairfield County Hunt Club to benefit the Domestic Violence Crisis Center.  Doors will open at 7:00 pm, with live music from local band, The Federation. The Fairfield County Hunt Club is located at 174 Long Lots Road, Westport, CT 06880.
The event, dubbed “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” promises to be a lovely evening overlooking the polo fields at the Hunt Club featuring delicious fall harvest fare, signature seasonal cocktails and tantalizing auction items. DVCC will be honoring Denise Mangano, former board member and longtime supporter of the organization with “Putting Others First Award”, established in 2011 in recognition of Kathy Kincaid, a Westport resident, extraordinary board member, volunteer and human being who worked tirelessly on behalf of DVCC.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the client services and preventive education programming DVCC offers in area schools, youth groups, work places and faith based organizations.
The new fall event is part of DVCC’s strategic commitment to raising awareness of domestic violence. “October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we are celebrating the community collaborations DVCC enjoys in raising awareness of domestic violence throughout lower Fairfield County,” said Kevin Shippy, DVCC Executive Director. The HarvestFest will be a culmination of DVCC’s enhanced events scheduled throughout the month of October in the seven neighboring towns we serve.”
“Westport has been vocally supportive of DVCC’s mission, from First Selectman Jim Marpe’s office, to Westport’s law enforcement, Domestic Violence Task Force led by co-chairs Lt. Jillian Cabana and Elizabeth Marks Juviler, in addition to the generosity of the community,” added Boardie Kurz, DVCC’s Development Director. “DVCC is grateful for the support of Cohen and Wolf P.C., and Corporate Benefit Enterprises in their significant role as corporate sponsors.”
Sponsors for this evening include Cohen and Wolfe P.C., Judith Udell, Kimberly & Bill Holmes, Janill & Sahul Sharma, John & Lynn Watkins and Corporate Benefit Enterprises, LLC.
