First Selectman Dionna Carlson to report on town’s progress at Men’s Club

April 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

First Selectman Dionna Carlson will update the New Canaan Men’s Club Friday on recent developments in town government, likely among them the recently approved 2027 budget of $184.5 million, including $116.4 million for the town’s school system, various planned town projects and the status of metered parking.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with Carlson beginning her report at about 10:40 a.m., following the business portion of the club’s meeting.
In her recent newsletter, she noted paving projects on Park Street and Playhouse lots scheduled for mid-April into early May will improve parking at both locations and provide wider spaces to accommodate the expanded car widths prevalent today. Because of the lots being closed, she notes, parking on Elm Street and South Avenue will be free during the anticipated two-week period when the paving is taking place.
And, in another sign of spring, outdoor dining is about to officially return on May 1, she notes, calling it a popular feature.
The Men’s Club meets at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge in Morrill Hall. Men 55-years old and above interested in joining may contact the club at ncmens@ncmens.org.
