The New Canaan Men’s Club will hear from Robin Bates-Mason, recently-named executive director of the New Canaan Land Trust, when it meets Friday, Sept. 26, at Morrill Hall in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
At the meeting, she’ll describe the organization’s work overseeing more than 400 acres of protected land and a network of nature trails, its educational programming and conservation partnerships. Appointed executive director in June, she will also touch on the organization’s plans going forward.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with Bates-Mason’s presentation scheduled for 10:40 a.m., following the business portion of the meeting.
When she was named the land trust’s executive director, the announcement cited Bates-Mason’s extensive work on behalf of conservation issues in town, noting that she was a co-founder of Planet New Canaan, served as co-president of the New Canaan Beautification League and was the team leader of the Town of New Canaan’s Sustainability Team, garnering a Bronze certification for the town from Sustainable CT. She also served on the New Canaan Town Council and was chairperson of the Conservation Commission.
