Men’s Club To Hear from Bird Watching Expert

April 4 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Noted local bird watcher Alec Wiggin will speak to the New Canaan Men’s Club Friday, April 4, explaining why Connecticut is a great area for birding and provide information about where the best local settings for bird watching are, what birds to look for and their migration habits.
Wiggin will speak to the club during its meeting beginning at Morrill Hall, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge at 10 a.m.
The Fairfield County region is an ideal location for bird watchers, he says, because it is on a migration route for many species and is an area with plentiful ponds, forests and a lengthy coastline.
In his talk, Wiggin is expected to describe typical basics for bird watchers, such as the life span of birds, migration details, where they spend winters and how their bird calls sound.
Wiggin spent much of his career in financial services, having received his degree from Harvard and an MBA from Columbia. He later created a business providing brand strategy and communications consulting.
The Men’s Club has openings for new members, men 55-years old and above. For information about joining, email ncmens@ncmens.info.
