The New Canaan Men’s Club will hear home gardening tips at its meeting Friday from Sean Corenki, general manager of the Darien Gardener’s Center. Corenki, with his 27 years in the garden center industry, will discuss ways members can nurture their home plantings, flowers and shrubs in his talk at Morrill Hall in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge.
The club’s meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with Corenki’s remarks scheduled for 10:40 a.m., following the business portion of the meeting.
Corenki, who has been with the Darien Gardener’s Center since 2006, says the best part of his job is “getting to talk to people about plants every day, whether it be a novice gardener or a plant geek like myself.”
In his remarks, Corenki is expected to share tips to help members with their own gardening issues and questions, as well as describe issues with plants he has helped nurse back to bloom.
“I love hearing people’s success stories,” he says, “and I am always able to help with things don’t go exactly as planned.”
