New Canaan, CT – October 17, 2019 – The New Canaan Holiday House Tour, organized by the Newcomers Club of New Canaan—is proud to announce the six unique homes that will be featured at this year’s Tour taking place on Dec. 6 and 7, 2019 10am-2pm. With a wide range of styles from modern to antique farmhouse, traditional and new build; each home will be professionally styled by local designers and feature holiday themes distinctive to the homes. In an open house style format, ticket goers will be invited to tour the homes, be inspired by holiday décor and, for the first time, have an opportunity to view two extensive car collections. The 2019 New Canaan Holiday House Tour homes include:
The Holidays at Windcrest Farm
Styling by Michael Canoro, Eastman Interiors
This antique home and property, dating back to the 1700s, has been expanded and modernized for today’s living. The design features an eclectic, yet casual, elegance and highlights many of its original details. The home will be styled by Michael Canoro, owner of Eastman Interiors, who will showcase a classic design, reflecting a unique holiday spirit to match the home’s eclectic design. With an extensive car collection, this home will be featured within the VIP car tour experience on Saturday, Dec. 7.
The STAR House
Styling by Kate Ferguson, Palomino Bazaar
This new build has been designed with the needs in mind of the homeowners, a young family with a son diagnosed with cerebral palsy. It showcases modern design featuring natural materials throughout. Styled by Kate Ferguson of Palomino Bazaar, the home will bring to life a star theme through simple, modern touches, highlighting the new home’s architecture and natural elements. The star theme was chosen to honor the family’s involvement in the non-profit, STAR, that offers a full array of services for over 500 individuals with disabilities and their families, from birth to their senior years.
Haute For The Holidays
Styling by Design Dot
A beautiful custom-designed modern farmhouse, built by the homeowner’s family, features a unique industrial design, clean lines and a wonderful balance of indoor/outdoor living. The home will be styled by The Design Dot team— including Megan Wunderlich, Samantha King, and Debbie Jackson. The holiday decor will feature neutral elements of the home, combined with understated but electric holiday design. Pale greens, blues, snowy whites will be highlighted with oranges and yellows to serve as unexpected bright bursts of colors.
The Caroling Inn
Styling by Lillian August
One of New Canaan’s most prominent and beloved historic homes, this 1898-built stucco Colonial is over 120 years old and rich in history. The three-story home, which once served as an inn, is a holdover from the “old” South Avenue with its beautiful columned wraparound porch that used to overlook farmland. The designers are Cindy Levi and Terrance Rhodes from Lillian August, who will feature a traditional New England Christmas theme while incorporating twists of color for an added “pop.”
Modern Mix on Michigan
Styling by Carey Karlan, Last Detail Interior Design
This stately 15,000 square foot handcrafted brick Chateau captures the best of European elegance. This home features contemporary design, an impressive Latin American art collection, and a unique subterranean garage with an extensive car collection. Carey Karlan from Last Detail Interior Design will be styling the home. With a car collection ranging from one of a kind antiques to the latest in exotic cars, this home will be featured within the VIP car tour experience on Saturday, Dec. 7.
A Season on Pointe
Styling by Lora Gray, Gray Interiors
This in-town oasis is a New England shingle style home with a beautifully designed transitional aesthetic. Lora Gray from Gray Interiors will style the home, taking inspiration from a traditional holiday favorite, the Nutcracker, which takes center stage during the holidays. The Nutcracker theme was chosen to reflect the family’s interest in dance and the joy the annual holiday ballet brings to New Canaan.
