Come to the New Canaan Nature Center on Saturday, November 26th from 8am to noon and drop off your pumpkins so they can be put to a wonderful use: Planet New Canaan will take your pumpkins and feed local farm animals. The program gives a whole new meaning to recycling. First, the pumpkins don’t end up in a landfill or incinerator. Second, we lighten the compost bins at the Transfer Station. Third, the farm animals receive nutritious food!

The pumpkins must be uncarved, not-painted, and used for decoration.

All New Canaan residents are welcome to drop off your pumpkins. However, if you have space in your yard or woods to compost your pumpkins, that is probably the best option.
