April is “Distracted Driving Awareness Month” and the New Canaan Police Department is participating in the 2025 Distracted Driving Grant this month, stepping up enforcement of distracted-driving laws in partnership with the state and local law enforcement, and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. “Distracted driving crashes are preventable,” NCPD said in a press release. “Driving should be a person’s number one priority behind the wheel. New Canaan Police Department urges motorists to put their phone down when they get behind the wheel.”

No one has yet shown up for a dog found on Locust Avenue at 2:36 p.m. on March 27. The animal has been transferred to Norwalk Animal Control.

The New Canaan Chapter of the National Charity League in March hosted what organizers called “a truly inspiring event,” An Evening with Tata Harper, held at Waveny House. “This elegant panel-style evening brought together NCL mothers, daughters, and sustainers for a heartfelt conversation centered on clean beauty, intentional living, and the power of purpose-driven entrepreneurship,” according to a NCL press statement.

  1. The Cathloic church doesn’t get it. This isn’t about them and there puke yellow brick, it’s about being part of this town. Every other buildling in town is red brick, but some how the church thinks it’s special. Over the years, this town has been very good to the church and you pull this crap. Not only did this eye sore take forever to build, now we have to look at forever. Spend some church money and paint it.
