Police on Christmas Eve day arrested a 48-year-old New Canaan man by warrant and charged him with two counts of violation of a protective order.
On Dec. 8, officers had taken a complaint from a victim regarding the Avalon Drive East man’s violation of condition in the protective order which forbids any form of contact, according to a police report.
The victim provided evidence to police that the man had violated the condition, the report said.
Following an investigation, police determined that the man had violated the protective order on two occasions, it said. According to Connecticut Judicial Branch records, the offenses had occurred on Oct. 28 and Dec. 3.
Police secured a judge-signed arrested warrant on the felony charges.
The man turned himself in at about 10:18 a.m. on Dec. 24.
He was released on $35,000 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 27 in state Superior Court.
According to court records, the man had been arrested twice in 2020 and charged with offenses including second-degree threatening, risk of injury and disorderly conduct.
