An 83-year-old Rosebrook Road man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after colliding with a parked vehicle on Smith Ridge Road on Thursday afternoon and flipping into the street, police say.

He was traveling southbound on Route 123 in the area of Wydendown Road at about 3:44 p.m. on July 16 when he struck a landscaping truck parked on the side of the road with its hazard lights on, according to New Canaan Police Capt. Vincent DeMaio.

No one else was injured in the accident and the motorist was wearing his seatbelt at the time of impact, according to a police report. Emergency responders came upon the scene and the man was hanging upside-down by the seat belt in his 2005 Subaru Legacy, which had come to rest in the roadway, DeMaio said.

Officials at Norwalk Hospital said they had no one by the motorist’s name still there, meaning he likely has been released.

He was cited for failure to drive right, police said.
